Uranus in Taurus direct 23/1/23 at 10am AEDT (22/1/23 GMT at 11pm)
Uranus is unchained energy that always has its finger on the eject button. Independent, futuristic and revolutionary, it pushes for radical change. Like a lightning bolt that hits with unexpected and erratic force, Uranus can knock us off our feet leaving us to wonder “what the hell just happened?”.
Taurus can bring weight to all that Uranus is trying to express, like a bird trying to fly whilst tethered to earth. Uranus has the foresight to see what lies ahead and is impatient to create change, to shake up the status quo. Taurus provides a filter that can orchestrate change in a way that ensures our values don’t get lost in the process. Even when necessary, change can be difficult so it’s important to keep our feet firmly on the ground to help stabilise the process.
When Uranus first entered Taurus in May 2018 we got our first glimpse of this encounter which hadn’t occurred since 1935. It wasn’t until March 2019 that Uranus could firmly settle into this Taurean space.
Over the past few years, everyone on the planet has had their lives thrown off kilter and has had to try to find some form of stability amongst the chaos. We’re still trying to come out the other side and find our new normal and it isn’t easy. Uranus has sent us flying off in a new direction when we’re still trying to figure out where to stake our tether.
Although, what Uranus in Taurus has done within this tumultuous environment, is provide an opportunity to reassess our value systems, question our choices and deem what is necessary or superfluous. Through isolation we’ve been able to discern what/who is worth holding onto and what/who we can detach from. No area of our lives have been untouched. Our relationships have been impacted, our work environment has changed and the way we make money has had to adapt rapidly or fall by the wayside.
Uranus is about to move in forward motion once more which may see us firmly planting that stake in the ground with a new perspective of this “new normal”. All planets are now moving in forward motion for a while until Mercury’s next retrograde later in April.
So, take some time to see which parts of your chart have been activated, maybe aggravated, by Uranus as it’s moved through the first 0-18 degrees of Taurus so far. These same degrees of Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius would also be activated by square and opposition.
The new moon in Aquarius yesterday provided an opportunity to set new intentions relating to the Uranian/Taurean experience.
