Beginner’s Course - Certificate

The Beginner’s course is designed to provide a solid understanding of Astrology beyond the basic Sun-sign stereotype. You will learn how to create a horoscope, calculate and interpret all the moving parts that make up the whole. Practical exercises throughout the course will help to integrate and develop this knowledge for confident interpretation.

This is a one-year, in-person course comprising of weekly (3-hour) classes conducted on Saturday afternoons.

2025 Semester dates are as follows:

Semester 1: 1 February - 29 March, 26 April - 7 June

Semester 2:    26 July - 13 September, 11 October - 29 November

Examination:   13 December

The Beginner’s course will cover the following:

  • The 12 Zodiac signs

    • Symbols, interpretation and associations

    • Qualities and Elements

    • Decanates

  • Planets

    • Symbols, interpretation, mythological associations

    • Dignitaries

    • The Astrological Signature

    • Retrograde information & interpretation

  • Manual calculations of the horoscope

    • House cusps including Ascendant & Midheaven

    • Planets

    • Aspects

  • Houses

    • Interpretation & associations

  • The K3 chart

  • Aspects, Chart Patterns, Chart Shapes

  • Moon Phases

  • Moon Nodes

  • Part of Fortune, Vertex

  • Planetary Transits

    • Retrograde transits

  • Introduction to Cosmobiology

    • Midpoints

  • Introduction to Medical Astrology

  • Planetary Cycles

Each student will be provided with a copy of their own Natal Chart to use as a practical, working document to help understand and integrate the information provided throughout the course.

The curriculum has been designed to allow for plenty of practical time within the theoretical and instructional elements of each class.

As a graduate of the Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology, the classes are independent of the AAAC but will align with their methodologies and teachings.
