Pluto in Aquarius
Pluto entered Aquarius on 23rd March 2023 at 11:14pm AEDT (12:14 GMT) for the first time since the late 1700s.
We’ll get a taste of what to expect from this Astrological pairing from now until mid-November 2024 as Pluto retrogrades back and forth between the late degrees of Capricorn and the early degrees of Aquarius. Beyond then, Pluto in Aquarius will be firmly established until 2043.
Pluto is not for the faint hearted. Pluto’s energy is intense and can destabilize anything that does not have solid foundations. It can draw our gaze deep into the shadow parts of ourselves which we may ordinarily choose to hide, avoid or deny. Resistance can be futile so it’s probably best to recognize that whatever challenges arise during this time, are a necessary examination and dissolution of what needs to be transformed.
Pluto is an active representation of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Through Pluto comes an awareness of what we need to sacrifice, to let go of and what we need to compost in the hope that something else will arise anew. Pluto can burn it all to the ground, where we are left with nothing but ashes to sift through and try to figure out if we can do anything with the remains or just walk away.
Pluto is power in its many forms and can test our relationship with this dynamic – how we experience power, how we use it and how we react to it.
Pluto can help us establish or reaffirm our “power of presence” - the power we have within that knows we have a right to be here and knows we have a right to take up space. It is also recognizing that the demonstration of such power doesn’t need to interfere with or impede the power of another.
Pluto can also be the abuse of power, tyranny and the resulting devastation of oppression.
Pluto’s move into Aquarius can represent revolutionary power; the power of the people, the voices that rise up against injustice and inhumanity. Pluto might back us into a corner, but Aquarius knows where the eject button is and when to pull it.
Pluto in Aquarius is dramatic change that may take some time to unfold. Change can be hard and the process is most often filled with discomfort, even if we’ve been proactive in its inception. Anarchy and chaos can leave us feeling disoriented as we navigate our way through unfamiliar territory. When we do eventually make it to the other side we may struggle to recognize ourselves as the old will have made way for the new…………….and that’s got to be worth it…….right?
