THE MOON IN MARCH

On March 14th there is a Full Moon in Virgo, accompanied by a total lunar eclipse. With the Sun in the opposite sign of Pisces, take note of where Virgo and Pisces are placed in your chart as these are the areas of your life where this is most relevant.

Eclipse energy has an intensity about it which can trigger feelings of instability, anxiety and trepidation. No different to how we may feel when on the cusp of change, it can feel uncomfortable as we transition away from what is familiar and into unchartered territory.

This Virgo full Moon will bring clear focus to the most minute details of our lives that we may usually choose to overlook. There really is nowhere to hide and if we choose avoidance rather than direct contact, decisions may be made for us that we might not be ready for.  Saturn sits close to the Sun in opposition to the Moon, playing an authoritarian role in how this plays out. Saturn slows things down, giving us time to pay attention and use some common sense when working our way through. Like a teacher who wants us to think and learn for ourselves, Saturn won’t let us leave the classroom until we figure it out.

On 29th March, at the time of the New Moon in Aries, there will also be a partial solar eclipse.

At this time there is a stellium (Saturn, North Node, Venus & Neptune) close to or within the last 5 degrees of Pisces, with Venus & Neptune conjunct the fixed star Scheat. Mercury, the Sun and Chiron are now in Aries so there’s is a lot of energy sitting at the threshold between these two signs, heralding in change.

Pisces is the sign at the end of a zodiac cycle, Aries the sign of a new beginning. The impetus to always move in forward motion holds potential, hope and possibility whilst also moving away from where we’ve been with respect and reverence.

This new Moon provides the opportunity to find the courage necessary to start something new, unshackled from the burdens of the past.
