Sun in Pisces
18/2/25 @9:08pm Melbourne, 10:08am London, 2:08 am San Francisco
On the 18th February the Sun will move into the mutable water sign of Pisces which has a natural association with the 12th house. Parts of the body ruled by this sign are the feet, lymph glands, nervous digestion and allergies.
I must admit, I have a soft spot for Pisceans as the love of my life is a Pisces. Ruled by Neptune they have an aura of mystery and allure about them. They are imaginative, sensitive and caring with a sixth sense superpower of intuitive knowing.
Pisces are the dreamers of the Zodiac and when left to their own devices, their imagination can take them to places beyond the realm of reality where anything is possible.
As I try to put together my musings about the Piscean character the words seem elusive as if I can’t quite find the clarity to formulate anything with structure. Then I remember that this is the influence of Neptune - the shroud of mystery, the clouded view, the reach into the unknown. So, I’m reminded to relax and let it flow.
Pisces is represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions, symbolizing the choice between ease and difficulty. The Piscean can challenge themselves to swim upstream against the current to create opportunities for themselves OR allow themselves to be carried downstream with little resistance to wherever the waters may take them. The level of drive and ambition they exhibit will depend on how strongly aspected the Sun is in their chart; if there is a little fire in there it can propel them a long way.
At times the world at large is nowhere near as interesting or inviting as the world held within their imagination. They can get lost in fantasy as a protective mechanism to help navigate through times of confusion, overwhelm, pain and suffering. Escapism can take many forms and they need to be careful not to look for remedies or distractions that can trigger their addictive tendencies.
Although Pisces is a mutable sign, those born at this time of year are by no means a pushover. When triggered, anger can break through their calm façade without warning but will drift away just as quickly. When they take off their rose-colored glasses you can get lost in their eyes which are also capable of piercing through you with icy intensity.
Melancholy and whimsy can be their preferred state of being, believing that things will turn out fine and that they’ll end up where they’re supposed to be or somewhere close. They’d rather sail effortlessly towards their goals than mundanely toil away in a state of boredom or exhaustion. They can function without a tether but forming associations with those of a more practical nature will help keep them grounded without the risk of drifting off on some side quest that may not be as enticing as first seemed.
Pisceans hold the wisdom of many lifetimes. They operate without judgement but are easily wounded by criticism or judgement from others. They have an innate ability to recognize vulnerabilities and victimization in others as they can closely relate themselves. They need to be careful not to get aboard the victim train (whether real or imagined) as it can lead them into a spiral of confusion and self destruction.
But through it all, the Pisces friend or lover will be the one gently whispering in your ear that “you can do anything because anything is possible”…….and they firmly believe that it is.
