FULL MOON IN PISCES
10th September, 2022 at 8:00pm (AEST)
When the two luminaries in our sky, the Sun and the Moon, find themselves in opposite sign placements, a Full Moon is imminent.
The Full Moon is a time of illumination when we experience maximum light in our night sky. The energetic relationship between these two opposing forces creates a tension that impacts the natural world and our ways of being.
The phases of the Moon affect the tidal flow of the oceans. With the adult body made up of 80% water, as is the Earth, it is no stretch to suggest that the Moon phases will also have impact upon the waters within our own body. The Full Moon can affect how comfortable we feel within our own skin and our emotional reactions
Studies have shown that the Full Moon is a time when strange things can occur as people tend to go a little loopy. Maybe this is a response in trying to deal with this build-up of energy. It’s also not recommended to have an operation at a Full Moon due to an increased risk of haemorrhage.
When the Moon is full, this swell of watery tension can be likened to the moment just before a bubble is about to burst. Or maybe likened to that moment between inhalation and exhalation if we try to hold our breath just a little longer than is comfortable. Here we can experience impatience and discomfort before the release of breath. Increase in tension before release - this is the type of energy that is ripe at the Full Moon.
This current moon cycle activated the Virgo/Pisces axis. The cycle which began at the end of August (27th at 6:18pm AEST) when the New Moon was in Virgo, is now reaching culmination at this Pisces Full Moon.
The mutable Virgo/Pisces polarity brings into awareness the dichotomy between diligence and freedom; critical practice and faith, discernment and intuition, attention to detail and imaginative possibility, insular focus and broad spectrum, work and respite.
This polarity also highlights the elemental relationship between Earth and Water. Water in just the right measure to Earth can bring nourishment and hydration to whatever is sown or seeded, but too much water can create a bog inhibiting growth and drowning potential.
All this to be mindful of during this Full Moon.
With the Full Moon in Pisces, our emotions can fuel our imagination and we can find inspiration in our emotional responses. We can dare to dream and trust our intuitions. As mutable Pisces knows no bounds, it can be challenging to find a framework for our emotional reactions at this time. Escapism may feel like a solution to feelings of overwhelm so keep in mind the Virgo superpower of discernment to help choose where and with whom you seek solace.
Up until a few hours ago, Mercury sat stationary in the sky for a couple of days. So maybe the lead up to this full moon has been a good time for pause, a calming of the mind, allowing thoughts to be still. Comfort may be found in the realm of possibility.
Whatever intention was set at the New Moon, know that the seeds have been planted, the work has been done, the details have been taken care of. Trust that this Moon cycle will take care of the rest.
If you’re a Pisces Moon, you will be somewhat familiar with this placement. If you were born when the moon was full, this is your moon phase and are probably totally fine and energised when there is maximum light in the night sky..
Where this Full Moon transits your Natal Chart will give you a hint as to how you may be personally impacted. If you have any natal planets or points at 17 degrees Pisces, this full moon energy may feel quite relevant. But remember all will pass as each Moon phase lasts just a couple of days until it transitions through to the next.
